Fetch as Google is a tool used by webmasters to check how their webpages are fetched when accessed and presented by Google. It’s a tool that sits within Google’s Search Console, and it returns one of four statuses:
- Completed (the wedge was successfully fetched by Googlebot)
- Partial (the webpage was only partially fetched)
- Redirected (Googlebot was redirected to load another webpage)
- Error message (these was an issue with retrieving the page)
Webmasters can use these messages in order to troubleshoot problems that might be hampering their ability to be seen, indexed and ranked on Google. Fetch as Google can be used 10 times per day.
For those pages that are successfully fetched, users of Fetch as Google can then request that Googlebot recrawls the page and any linked pages to reindex them.
