The Knowledge Panel is a service provided by Google. It’s a search engine result pages (SERP) feature that shows on organic search results. It features on both mobile browsers and on desktop browser windows.
The purpose of the Knowledge Panel is to give web users a little more information about the search term they keyed into the search engine. For instance, it might feature a brief description of the topic searched for, including images or links to further reading and related search topics.
All of this comes from Google’s Knowledge Graph, which is a database built to understand, process, and deliver insights from semantic information.
