A sitelink is an additional link that may display below a listing on Google’s organic search results. For instance, a listing for a clothing retailer might feature, in small blue text, links to different sections of that website at the very bottom of the listing. Usually, sitelinks will number between four and six.
These links are generated by Google’s algorithm. That means websites should be aware that their navigation links are important for the ability of Google to form sitelinks. Use anchor text and alt text on webpages in order to make it easier for Googlebots to understand which webpages might be relevant to add on to a listing as sitelinks.
