The quest to improve your SEO ranking is one that never ends. It is always worth doing an audit to see if you have done everything you can and see whether you are taking advantage of all the free SEO marketing tools that there are available across the internet. This only costs you time, not money, and is well worth investing in to improve your rankings and boost your traffic.

Another great feature of these tools is that most of them are designed to be in plain English, so they are useful whether you have any website creation knowledge or are totally new. They can be used by SEO professionals and small business owners alike.

google analytics dashboardGoogle Analytics

Possibly the most important SEO and marketing tool, Google Analytics shows you everything you need to know about your prospects and who visits your website. Simply connect the free software, and you can monitor things like conversions, acquisition, the audience, behavior, and more, and it’s all in real-time.

It is vital that you understand how your traffic is arriving at your site in order to take full advantage of your digital marketing by identifying the channels that are working best for you. It also shows you where you are not performing so well, giving you the chance to make improvements. You should be reviewing your results at least weekly, if not daily.

Google PageSpeed Insights

There was a time when your page speed was not actually a criterion for SEO rankings. But this has changed; Google now insists on good site speeds if you want to rank near the top. Of course, this isn’t the only criteria, but it will negatively impact your chances if your pages are lagging and slow. Many different SEO marketing tools can look at your user experience; however, sticking with Google is never a bad idea as they are the giants of the SEO world. All you need to do is enter your website address in Google PageSpeed Insights.

You will be shown lots of information that includes your speed, how your users find the site. Plus, it gives you a list of things you should be considering improvements for. You also don’t need to be an expert, as, under each issue, they provide a helpful link that shows you how to fix it. You should ensure that you check both your desktop and mobile speeds, as these both need to rank highly for your site to appear in the top listings.

Moz Check My Listing

Another fantastic resource for online marketing SEO tools is the site Moz and, in particular, the check my listing feature. This tool is designed to see whether your target audience can easily find you on the internet. Again, it’s a straightforward search. You pop your business name and zip code into the tool, and the results are returned. First of all, you will get an overall percentage score, and you are aiming for 100%.

As you go through the results, you will also see you are offered information grouped by complete, incomplete, inconsistent, and duplicates. It is important to pay attention to the last three categories and take action to fix the problems. Thankfully, the tool also offers you a link to update your listing or create a listing if it is missing, so once more, your technical skills don’t have to be great; you can let the tool do the work.

SEO SiteCheckup

Another great SEO online marketing tool is SEO SiteCheckup. Again, entering your information here will return an analysis of any SEO issues, monitoring of your competition, SEO monitoring, and some really excellent SEO reporting tools. All of these are presented in plain English and offer resolutions that are easy to understand.

For example, you may find that you are missing H1 or H2 tags, and these can be added simply using your website development software. Each issue comes with a handy how-to-fix button, so again if you aren’t 100% confident of what the problem is, you can easily get help.

The bottom line

These are just a few marketing SEO tools available across the internet, and we’ve picked them because they are free. You will also find tools that help you with issues such as finding the best keywords to use and seeing how well you are performing on social media channels. As they are all free, it is well worth taking the time to work through them and improve your SEO ranking, thus boosting traffic to your site.
