A Favicon is a small icon that is associated with a given website or webpage. The Favicon is displayed next to the title of the webpage in the browser tab, or in the address bar, so that people can see which tab relates to which website if they have multiple tabs open.
These icons are designed to shrink down to small sizes. Often, they’re a simplified image of the website’s logo or the business’ symbol. This visual market is considered important to build brand visibility and engagement.
When creating a Favicon, ensure that the icon’s dimensions are either 16×16 pixels or 32×32 pixels, using either 8-bit or 24-bit colours. That way, the icon will be present on all major browsers.
