Keyword Density is the term given to a measurement of the number of times a keyword features on a webpage, taken as a percentage of the total number of words. The keyword density of webpages is taken into account by search engine bots when they index pages, which means the optimising keyword density is one way to improve page rank.
However, a high density of keywords on a webpage can be detrimental to a webpage’s rank. That’s because there’s a threshold beyond which Google’s bots will interpret the high frequency of search terms as keyword stuffing, which is frowned upon by Google and the SEO community.
