A Service Area Business (SAB) is any business that visits customers without having a physical bricks-and mortar storefront. These include professionals and tradespeople who provide services such as building, plumbing, wiring electrics, and other services.
Some SABs attempt to boost their presence and visibility on search engines by making repeated entries on Google My Business. In order to reduce the amount of spam or repeated entries in this directory, Google now requires businesses signing up to the scheme to go through a process of vetting, which takes place offline. This provides a more accurate service to the user.
