Local SEO aims to generate traffic and visibility with local web users, or users from a particular region. The aim of Local SEO is to boost the rank of a local business in Google’s Local Packs, which the search engine uses to display local businesses to web users when their queries suggest they’re looking for a local company.

Local SEO techniques include ensuring that a business’ data is up to date on Google Local Packs, as well as other local directories that are displayed on search engines, such as Google My Business and Yelp. Marketers also work to gain local citations and reviews, which enhance local business’ brand reputation and SEO rank.
